Why I Support Mayor Pete for POTUS

I write this as someone campaigning to be the next Mayor of South Bend in a field of candidates that includes one endorsed by Mayor Pete Buttigieg himself.

Through his hard work and vision, Mayor Pete has made a lasting impact on the future of South Bend . His legacy will be as someone who changed the culture of South Bend and created belief in being excited about our city.

Although, I believe South Bend’s renaissance has been a long and complex series of events, and cannot be credited to any one individual alone, Mayor Pete had the strong leadership and ability necessary to build upon the work of decades public servants and hundreds of involved community members laying the foundation for the South Bend we are living in today.

Pete’s energy, hard work, and vision gave South Bend the much needed and timely boost, both economically and culturally which will be carried on through the following decades.

Pete has the integrity, intellect, work ethic, and the ability to inspire others for which our country has a great need. Importantly, Pete’s communication style and his ability to translate complicated policy into understandable language is a trait sorely missing from the current national political climate.

I am proud to see Pete represent our city and state to the nation and believe he has the ability to transcend the tension and divisiveness that permeates our national political climate.

I know the man well and I admire his boldness. Regardless of who you may support in the upcoming Primary Election for Mayor of South Bend, I ask that you join me in supporting Mayor Pete as he embarks on his journey towards service to our entire country and representing South Bend to the world.
